Paros Airport (PAS): The Complete Guide

Paros Airport guide: which airlines fly to PAS, flight times from Athens, transfer options to Parikia and Naoussa, and car pickup at arrivals.

Yes, Paros has an airport — and it's one of the easiest arrivals in Greece. Paros National Airport (code PAS) sits in the flat southwest of the island near Aliki, a modern little terminal that gets you from plane door to island road in about fifteen minutes. Here's everything worth knowing before you fly in.

Which airlines fly to Paros?

PAS handles domestic flights only — the runway suits turboprops like the ATR-72, not big jets. In season you'll find:

  1. Athens (ATH): the workhorse route — around 40 minutes, several flights daily with Olympic Air/Aegean, year-round.
  2. Thessaloniki (SKG): seasonal direct flights in summer, around 1 hour.

Flying from abroad? You'll connect in Athens — often doable within 1–2 hours on one ticket. Fares to Paros run from about €45 one-way booked early to €120+ last-minute in August. The alternative from Athens is the ferry, compared in detail in our Athens to Paros guide.

The terminal: small and quick

The current terminal opened in 2016 (with recent expansions) and is refreshingly simple: one arrivals hall, one baggage belt, a café, and daylight from every side. Bags typically appear within minutes; there are no long walks. Departing, arrive 60–90 minutes early in peak season — check-in queues for the small aircraft can bunch up — and note there's limited shade at the drop-off, so don't plan a long linger.

Where the airport is (and isn't)

PAS is in the southwest corner of Paros, near Aliki village:

  1. Parikia (port/capital): ~10 km, 15 minutes' drive
  2. Naoussa: ~20 km, 30 minutes
  3. Golden Beach / Piso Livadi: ~17 km, 25 minutes
  4. Pounta (Antiparos ferry): ~7 km, 10 minutes

Getting from the airport to your hotel

  1. Rental car (recommended): Car Hire Paros meets arrivals at the airport — your car is waiting when you land, and you're at your hotel before the bus has left. Book ahead in summer: see the fleet and prices.
  2. Bus: a KTEL service links the airport with Parikia, timed loosely around flights in season; from Parikia you connect onward. Cheap, but slow with luggage and thin off-season.
  3. Taxi: the island has only a small taxi fleet; in August, pre-book or expect a wait. Airport to Parikia runs roughly €20–25, Naoussa €35–45.

One honest tip: if your accommodation is in Naoussa or on the east coast, a hire car from the airport pays for itself on day one — and you'll use it for everything else. See do you need a car in Paros? for the full reasoning.

Frequently asked questions

Does Paros have an international airport?

No — PAS is domestic only. International travellers connect through Athens (or take the ferry from Piraeus). The Athens–Paros hop takes about 40 minutes.

How early should I book flights to Paros?

For July–August, 2–3 months ahead gets sane fares; the small turboprops sell out around the August 15 holiday. June and September are far more forgiving.

Is it better to fly or take the ferry to Paros?

Flying wins on time (40 min vs 3–4.5 h), the ferry wins on price and luggage. Full comparison here.

Can I pick up a rental car at Paros Airport?

Yes — we deliver to airport arrivals as one of our 12 pickup points across Paros and Antiparos. Reserve ahead and the paperwork takes five minutes.
