Where to Stay in Paros: Best Areas & Towns Compared

Naoussa, Parikia, Piso Livadi or Golden Beach? A local comparison of the best areas to stay in Paros for couples, families and first-timers.

Choosing where to stay in Paros comes down to one honest question: what do you want outside your door in the evening? The island is compact enough that beaches, villages and ports are all within a 40-minute drive of anywhere — so pick your base for its atmosphere, and let a rental car handle the rest. Here's how the main areas compare.

Naoussa — for style, dining and nightlife

The island's most fashionable base. You'll pay the highest rates on Paros, but you get the Venetian old port, the best restaurant scene in the Cyclades, cocktail bars and boutique hotels. Kolymbithres, Monastiri and Santa Maria beaches are all a short drive away. Downsides: peak-season crowds and the priciest rooms. Best for couples and food-focused travellers. Full town guide: Naoussa, Paros.

Parikia — for convenience and value

The capital and ferry port gets unfairly overlooked. Stay here for the best-value rooms, the widest choice of tavernas, the Ekatontapiliani church and easy logistics — you step off the ferry and you're home. The town beach is ordinary, but Marcello and Krios across the bay are good swims. Best for first-timers, budget travellers and anyone island-hopping who wants to be near the ferry connections.

Piso Livadi & Logaras — for families and calm

A small east-coast harbour with a row of tavernas on the water and a gently shelving sandy beach next door at Logaras. It's quiet in the evening, genuinely Greek, and sits within 10 minutes of Golden Beach, Marpissa and the mountain villages. Best for families with young kids and anyone allergic to crowds.

Golden Beach & Drios — for beach-first holidays

Stay on the southeast coast if the plan is maximum hours on sand. Golden Beach has the island's best water sports scene; Drios just south is leafy and low-key. You will absolutely want a car here — restaurants and towns are a drive away.

Aliki & the south — for peace and fish tavernas

A whitewashed fishing village near the airport with a couple of lovely small beaches. The quietest option on this list and handy for early flights from Paros Airport, but you'll drive for almost everything else.

The one-base rule

Don't split your stay between two hotels. Paros is small — Parikia to Golden Beach is about 30 minutes' drive — so a single base plus a rental car covers the whole island with less packing and more beach. Cars start at €42/day with pickup at the airport, port or your hotel area: see the fleet. Then plan your days with our Paros itinerary.
